Artist Statement

For my final TikTok filters I created one static mask that was shaped as a spider, and two animated filters of a jewel eye accessory with tears falling and an abstract mask that would grow and spin. Throughout this process I learned many different skills in Blender to create my final product, such as sculpting, grease pencil, and extruding. My results differed from my original plan as learning how to replicate what I was envisioning in both shape, color, and texture differed from my capability to actually create it. In my final products I did not use any rigging which is one thing I would change if I were to redo this project. I feel as if rigging allows there to be more interesting movement than manipulating the rotation, location, and scale alone. Another thing I would change is looking for ways to create interesting colors or textures rather than flat colors. One thing I tried to do while creating my filters is to create designs that I thought would be able to translate to real life. Meaning that these are all designs that I would like to create as a physical and wearable object.
